Ever had one of those days...that just went on and on?

So yesterday I took apart my vortech and tried to "fix" it. It was noisy and I found a thread for bearing replacement on ReefCentral. Yeah that didn't go so well and I broke an integral part so now its toast.

Today I decided to clean my skimmer as the pump was making some funny noises and after turning the skimmer off I could see there was some detritus building up in there. Of course hauling out the skimmer I broke the top that holds the skimmer cup on (pretty much the shole piece that curves after the tube to hold the skimmer cup).

You'd think I'd have left well enough alone after the vortech "incident" but noooo.

So ya, I'll be getting out the silicone and hopfully I don't eff this one up. Darren I might be needing my old euroreef back. Frig these newer Euroreefs are built like crap, certainly not the little tanks they used to be.

I'm thinking the effing tank can bloody well maintain itself from now on. Cripes, next I'll be doing a waterchange and crack a pane of glass on the tank or something

Ugh! I hate those days. I've had so many of them by odds I should be trouble-free until at least 2015. Hope the rest of your day goes much better. Put your feet up, open a box of bon-bons and load up your favourite movie.
Wait! Better not. The DVD player will probably explode.

LOL, ya I'm not touching anything expensive today. I think I'll just read a book or look out a (small) window or something.

Sorry to hear. Although to be fully frank it sounds like a sort of normal day for me :p "Please let me know what else I can screw up today" is my motto.

There's always tomorrow. (He says meaning it as well intentioned but realizing it can be taken two ways - no, no, optimism! Optimism!)

Get out the weldon and make lemonade Christy.

Then buy a mated pair of mp60s and let them make sweet love in your water column.

....sorry to hear Christy......I think we've all had those days.....usually for me it involves something that I've posted here:surprise::mrgreen:

lol, I don't get the "one of those days" reference...sounds pretty typical for about 10 years worth of days so far :)

Good idea for a forum though, Stupid Reefing Days. We can all post what not to do to further mess things up. I spent an hour picking little bits of crap out of my tank, old shells, a bit of valonia, bunch of house cleaning stuff. Painstakingly pulled stuff, put it in a container, put said container on canopy, took a break, came back and closed canopy, and ya, dumped everything back into the tank. Sometimes you just gotta back away slowly.....:)

LOL, ya I've done that too. At least its already picked so its fairly easy to siphon out (unless the fish are already playing volleyball with the valonia)
