*** BWA *** Captive Breeding Program *Updated Sept.24
After only 5 years in the hobby, and 2 years in business, I have seen many highs and lows in this hobby. I am also privy to information that some of you may not see in this business.
We at BWA are proud to announce that we are moving more toward a captive and Tank Bred marine breeding program. We have always tried to purchase our livestock from breeders and respected suppliers. We will be using as many local and commercial breeding facilities and fish farms before purchasing caught fish. Supporting any local breeders any way we can. Most of our clownfish will actually be supplied from a local source, and we are partnering with him for other species of livestock. Unfortunately not all livestock can be farmed, but we will do our best to cause the least enviromental damage to our oceans. I know this is not a new idea, and we are just 1 store, but I know it will make a difference. At least to me and my staff. Ken - BWA |
thinking back to the times of flush away Xenia, any interest in getting corals from local reefers?
|
I take them in all the time.

That's awesome to hear,I remember years ago when none of the pet stores would take local breeders stock. Damn hopefully I can find a store like this to take my clown babies!!
|
Ken, that's great to hear. Less fish caught from the ocean will make this a better world.
|
I saw some local bred clowns in the shop today and they are great clowns! Thumbs up for the effort to do this.
|
NICE!
Great initiative! I wish more shops would follow your example. I will be more inclined to buy your fish over wild caught.
I used to like wild caught.... and my clowns are wild caught from Shannon's old store.... but I am older... and wiser now and can appreciate quality captive bred fish. TWO THUMBS UP KEN AND BWA!!!!! |
Great to hear Ken!

Just an update of our program, and it is expanding weekly
