bio pellets + GFO?

Is there a downside using both? I currently have GFO running and it keeps the algea away and I just started bio pellets. Is the GFO going to kill the bacteria?

I'm looking into running Bio Pellets as well and I've read of people running 2 reactors: 1 with the bio pellets, and another with carbon on the bottom and GFO on top of it.

Hey Milad,

I would recommend to take the GFO offline as the limiting of PO4 will limit the uptake of NO3 as well. If you have excess PO4 then run GFO passively in a media bag so that it doesnt absorb the PO4 too aggressively

Cheers

with the dosage of a bacteria source after 4 days it should start working pretty well.
