Sick lion fish ??

So I have a hawaiin lion fish and havE had him in a 75 gallon for over a month now and have noticed that in recent days he has been uninterested in food and his eyes seem to be cloudy. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It doesn't sound happy in its new home. Can you move it to a larger tank? I used to keep a Volitan in a 120gal, it lived in there for about 4 years until one day it lost interest in food and died a month later. I blamed the tank size.

Have you tired soaking his food in garlic? Supposed to help with the desire to eat.

might be a dumb question...but you've tried live fish right?

I wonder what ever happened to this fish

I had a lionfish that stopped eating. I tried everythign, but what finally worked is hand feeding. Well, not exactly by HAND, but it has to be on a skewer and placed right in front of him. He's not blind, I see that he follows floating food with his eyes, but he won't go after anything. I can't explain why. I guess he just decided he's a princess.
:surprise:

Lion fish has cloudy eyes

Are they eating well? if not, they are lacking protein, and starting diseases developing internally causing to have cloudy eyes. The fish needs lot of protein and they are always like to eat live fishes. You have to train them eat frozen smel, not myies...Don't feed them with gold fishes.

And if you are feeding live foods, there's no reason not the gut-load the food, same as people do for crickets for geckos. Feed the food a nice nutritious pellet, then feed the food to the lionfish. Easy way to increase the protein content.
