okay here is a picture from tonight November 27, 2010.
Tank has no sump, skimmer or filtration of any kind other than the live rock.
T5 lighting and an mp10 and koralia 1 for water movement.

looks good. Best part is that black clown is in the same spot. Hows the scooter blennies.

The scooters are good, they seem to get along. The new one (male) seems to try and show off for the female but she is not that interested yet.
The new plate coral has put out polips already and ate some plankton already too.

Wow, looking good! It's even more impressive that your doing so well without a sump. Everyone I tell that too thinks your crazy! Looing forward to helping you out with your collection.

looks sweet, im also running a 33g with no mechanical filtration .any certain diection your going with this tank or mixed??

outacontrol 11-29-2010 03:52 AM

thank you, I have no real long term direction for this tank.
The tank has been running for about 4 years now, for the first 3 years it was pretty much just a fowlr, and everyone told me that I would never be able to keep any LPS, anemone and definately not SPS. Well here it is almost a year with my GBTA and I have just been slowly adding things and have lost almost nothing. Not too bad for no filtration and only 78 watts of T5 lighting (2 bulbs).
I would like to upgrade to a larger 36" long tank some time soon, money permitting.

If a tank is maintained well a sump and skimmer really aren't necessary, I ran my old 42g without for years as well. Similar lighting too
