Robot Fish Video
Robot Fish
I really want to like them (being a reef geek & tech head) but somehow it's not that appealing. Maybe they should have made it nicer looking, or either more futuristic or more natural looking. At the moment it looks like one of a crappy plastic fish that people of dubious taste may put on their mantle piece. In any case there's no substitute for the beauty of the real thing that we have in our tanks. . |
I agree. They needed to go a little further with the look one way or the other (further absurd or further natural). Neat idea I suppose but like you, although I "ought" to be more excited by it, I just ... am not.
Not terrible related, well, maybe, kinda, sorta .. I dunno. I was looking at this earlier today: http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/16/q...-end-really-i/ |
yawn.. wake me when they start mounting freaking lasers on their heads!
|
Did you watch the link *I* posted? They're not going to need lasers to get us. They'll chase us, we can't escape them, and they'll use those little propeller things to get us to do their bidding. "Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow! Stop it! Here, jump through this hoop and leave me alone! Oh crap, you did and it was done in 2 seconds! Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!" Then we'll jump into the water to escape, and the robot fish will swim calmly up to us and then show us their menacing mechanical mouths.
Doomed! We're all doomed! DOOOOOOOMED! |
That's brutal, they didn't even acclimatize that poor thing. Also, that tank is way too small. Everyone knows that robotic fish will get stressed out in a tank that small.
|
Now if only they can make them edible so we don't keep wiping out the oceans of the real thing.Yeah I know, a pipe dream.

Ethics aside they would need to grow ten times faster or more to keep up with demand......as Metallica says..."Sad but True"
|
Well... I am thinking the stress level would go down a whole lot if all had them in our reefs.
