TAKE A LOOK!!! Aquascape!

So this is my dry run of my aquascape, i marked out with painters tape the size of my 25g tank and went from there, let me know what you think. I have one more peice of rock to go in, the seeding peice.

Any suggestions or input would be great!!

Sorry pic is a little fuzzy, had to shrink it quite a bit!!!

Now keep in mind my opinion is worth less than the usual 0.02.

I think it looks pretty unnatural with the 3 'legs' and then the 2 shelves. I'd try and break the structure up and mix up elevations/proportions?

Yeah, sorry but I agree with Brett. It looks too structured; it needs some randomness to it.

unnatural especially the center piece round shape with flat balanced on top not working.

Oh uhhh...no I loved it. Sheesh you guys are harsh that was my kid typing before and...

Harsh ha ha, input suggestion that's all. If you feel bad now strickland, well it's been almost 11years and I'm still moven rock around. Just make sure the base is sturdy.

Aquascaping in a small tank like 25g can be a challenge particularly with larger pieces. I actually think it's a pretty good start. What it could benefit from, as stated, is some randomness - more specifically, from depth. We have a structure here that is parallel to the front glass, I would take one of the pillars and move it forward and the other two back and see where that takes you. :)

Every time I look at it , it seems to be flipping me the bird?

Hmm... not sure I like it either. Doesn't seem to look natural. I think people place too much emphasis on aquascaping. I just threw my rocks in and let them fall were they did. Okay that's not entirely true but it looks mega natural.

Yeah the funny thing is all the nice shape and character the reef takes on is a product of the actual reef corals themselves it seems to me. The natural look could in fact be a pile...leave them where they lay and grow some mad colonies.

I always wanted shelf rock for my big tank but the shelves themselves were obviously dead pieces of plating corals. About as unatural as you can get. The shelves ideally would be your plating corals etc. In the really killer, mature tanks you can't even see the rock anymore.
