choice include:

GenX mak4

little giant
oceanrummer 6500
ampmaster 3000

i need a pump to pump water from basement to the first floor, my tank is 125 gallon reef

also i need a choice for close circulation, since it is on the first floor, will quiet one do?? or any other suggestion?

figure out the exact feet of head you will need to compensate for and then select the right pump for the job, I would use a japanese motor iwaki pump, unless you want to spend big coin and get into RK2 or the like... how many gph do you need and what is the ft/ head???

i have had a good time using mak 4, and in a shop setting, it is excellent... i guess i need about 1000 gph, with 6-8 feet head... i am thinking of using 2 genx mak4

good choice.. I love my MAK 4's and it is the only pressure rated pump out of the list.

I just made a recomendation on what I would use, I thought mabey he forgot about iwaki pumps, he never mentioned any concerns of price so I thought I would recomend the best pump for the application, Ive used and serviced both brands of pump and would never buy a mak4 or any mak pump again, I look at pumps like tires on a car, they hold the power of life in the palm of their hand, I pick quieter extended life. Just my personal prefrence, more expensive? yes, worth it? yes.
In my eyes....

Little Giants last for years. Ive had 3, never had a problem. But they are also more than $200. Bought them all second hand.
