Splitting a devil's hand coral

I just split the above tonight after a procastinating period of time. I was told to cut straight down, not on an angle. I did that and made 3 frags out of the mother. I put all frags separately on a piece of LR held by not too tight elastic band and put everybody back in my display tank (don't have any other tank, unfortunately...). They all look pretty sad and I was wondering how long it takes for them to heal (hopefully they'll survive...). Please advise. Thanks much!

They will heal in time. Pretty hardy coral they are. Nothing ever looks pretty after they've been fraged, but they will survive.

They should be fine. It is a good idea to run carbon if they are going into your display as they do goo a bit when they have been cut.

Good to now as I will be fragging my sinularia coral tonight for the first time... should it be cut at angle as we'll?
