What's the Most Baking Soda you've Added Safely?

I was wondering what the most Baking Soda you all have added safely in one swift dose?

I know we all have different size tanks, so I'm going to list my answers as a 100G system. This is total system volume of water, including sump.

Well ordinary baking soda will have very little affect on the pH. If you want to raise you pH you should be using soda ash (sodium bicarbonate vs. sodium carbonate).

The main thing it does is increase carbonates (alkalinity).

I dont know how to answer this poll but I wouldnt use more than enough to raise your tank 1dkh in a single dose....but thats me.

This is taken from Randy Homes Farleys recipies
Recipe #2, Part 2: The Alkalinity Part

Dissolve 297 grams of baking soda (about 1 1/8 cups) in enough water to make 1 gallon total. This dissolution may require a fair amount of mixing. Warming it speeds dissolution. This solution will contain about 950 meq/L of alkalinity (2660 dKH). As mentioned earlier, Arm & Hammer is a fine brand of baking soda to use in these recipes. Be sure to NOT use baking powder. Baking powder is a different material that often has phosphate as a main ingredient.

I won't let the tank go up by more that 1 to 2 dKH in a single pop
