Help Tunze wavebox problem

I can't find an answer for my question. Does anyone know if the pump on the wavebox is supposed to run continuously with pulses or stop completely between pulsing. I have 2 of these tunze waveboxes and the newer 6261 pump that runs continuously is the one that I'm thinking isn't working as intended.

Has anyone else had any similar problems?

Thanks,
Jason

Unless it came equipped with a variable prop then it has to be a Monday morning special, running constantly at the same speed will not cause a wave.

Well it doesn't run constantly at the same speed, it still pulses but it doesn't shut off completely between pulses. So it makes a very weak wave.

The pulse should be variable, that is the whole premise of the Wavebox.

Thanks for the reply golfnut. I do realize how the waves are generated, I just want to know does yours shut completely off between pulses? I think my pump is screwed.

I have the wavebox nano, and yes the impeller stops completely between bursts.

The propeller should stop completely between bursts.

I don't own a Wavebox, I built my own.
