Local light supplier????

Does anyone know of a local supplier of PC tubes :question: I really am not fond of the Coralife 50/50 tube that came with my Aqualight. I am looking for a 10000K/65W tube European four pin straight across :question: :question:

Try Brite-Lite maybe..

they also have a website but I don't think they list their entire inventory on it but it's worth a look: http://www.brite-lite.com/

Yup - 6400K 55W straight-pin tubes for 13-14 dollars, forget what I paid exactly. They are wicked bright, excellent balance when used with actinic.

I think the part # is PLL-55W. Just be specific when you call to check stock, as they have different colour temps in that model.

Try this: http://www.brite-lite.com/CdnShop/Pu...cat105.htm#237

<EDIT: just noticed you're looking for 65W, not 55. Anyways, wasn't your PC fixture a 2x96w?>

The tube is indeed a 65W. It is for the new 24" Aqualight on my 15 gallon nano zoanthid tank. :rolleyes:

Well then, you could use it. Aren't 55 and 65w interchangeable?

Yes, I checked with Coralife, and they are fine with it. I would suspect it is the same tube. Probably they use a ballast that allows a little more current to boost the tubes to 65W. We are probably overdriving a little bit. :eek:
