surface skimmers
 

hi all,

this is my first post to this forum - use to work with eposer a while back and he introduced me to this site.

anyhow, I just picked a fluval surface skimmer attachment for my fluval 304 canister filter and wondered (before i installed it) if anyone had tried these before.

Used to use one and it works well as long as you keep it clean. If your using it in a SW tank than It will get coated with coraline and algae so it's a must to clean it every week or two to keep it functioning properly.

thanks Canadian man. but it's TOO LATE - put it in earlier this evening and it works well. The other nice feature is that it doesn't have that end cap that keeps coming off everytime you prime the filter after cleaning it. :rolleyes:

i let it skim for a few hours and the surface looks *beautiful* :biggrin:
