Is there anything that will eat that brown crap on my sand ?

I know I need more flow in my tank and suspect thats why I'm getting this settling on my sand instead of down into my sump. But since I dont have enough cash on hand to throw a new eheim in my sump I was wondering if there was a temporary solution ..

Orange spotted goby keeps our sand nice and clear....makes a little mess of the water from the debris.

If it is a new tank and it is sort of brown dusting, you have diatoms which is normal.
If you are using RO/DI water and are doing frequent water changes, it will go away.

If it's not diatoms, and is infact detritus, then you need more flow in the tank via powerheads, not more flow in the sump.
