i dont no if im in the right place here but what is a good first clam to get i have wanted one for a long time now and i want to get one any help would be great thanks

but a derasa's are a good one and squamosa's i would go with a derasa thou.
but lets see what you have in your tank first off

i have a 50 g tank 20 g sump i have a 250mh with 2 65 pc lights for fish i have 2 purc clowns i Scopas Tang ,sleeper goby ,1 tomato clown

then you can go with a Crocea, maxima, squamosa, derasa, but your first one a crocea would be good then ...

How long has the tank been up & running?

Crocea tend to be an easier clam to keep (easy is a relative term when it comes to clams) They don't get as big either which is preferable in a smaller tank.

They require pretty good water params and good lighting but with 250 you have more than enough IMO.
