got some lights , will they work ?
 
hi i got 6 mh lights from a auction just wondering if the will work for tank needs , they are out door rated so water not a prob but what is the diff from these and ones you buy from lfs ?
can i maybe use them with the right bulb ?

I dont see why they wouldnt work.....with the proper bulb and reflectors.

Make sure the glass covers are in place or you will burn out your eyes and get a nasty suntan.

As per the second lable, would be 150 watts maxs on these fixture. Also they might have a loud humming noise.

M58 = 250w Probe Start Metal Halide

Get the correct bulbs (probe start) and you should have no problem.

don't understand the 150W max sticker for a M58 ballast (250W), probably should see what's on the ballast itself.

Here's a link that shows ANSI number to ballast type and wattage (at bottom).

well for the humm they are quieter then my hamilton pendant , thanks for the info i will look into this a little more

1 got 3 175w and 3 250 watt with bulbs for 30$ i have pluged 3 of them and so far they work :) i plan on putting 2 in my shop

if i have any left i may have a buyer for 40$ ea plus i have 2' bells for normal bulbs and mh bulbs x20
