freshwater pods

i set up a freshwater planted tank a month ago or so without any fish. i was looking at my glass today and it looked like the specs on the front were moving.
on closer inspection there is a bunch of little pods on my glass. i was just wondering are pods as common in FW as in SW?

I don't know what kind they are but yeah, I've seen them in my planted tanks before, they never seem to affect the fish, I'd imagine they eat them.

If you have access to a microscope you should look at a smidge of your FW algae under it, pretty damn cool, there's a whole tiny ecosystem in a drop!
