Weird GBTA Not finishing it's split??

My weird little BTA started a split 8 days ago.
One day it moved half of it's foot onto another rock and started splitting. (See first pic) Then basically split half way and stopped???? For the last week it has just stayed this way or split just a small amount more. It is still connected by a small piece on one side. I can see what resembles 2 separate mouths forming so tried to feed it last night. Both ate but not from the "new" mouths but rather 2 areas sorta near the split.
So should I be doing anything for it to encourage this split to finish??

It does sometimes happen that they start and then stop. My guess is it will eventually resume, whenever it feels like it. There are precedents of people helping them along but ... if it were me I wouldn't do it.

Thanks Tony! I hope to have 2 soon as I worry about it not eating properly and starving. Both appeared to eat yesterday however I do not know if in the end they kept it down or "spit it out" (went to bed).

i have seen them take quite a while to finish but i am very surprised they are eating already.

good luck and keep us posted, please

Still not split?!! Weird?! Have tried to feed 2 more times but this time it did not seem to be able to or interested? Held it for abit the let it go.

could always slice it between the 2 mouths if you want. I would do this out of the display tank thou.

Yah you could use a clean new razor blade and cut it, but as mentioned move it to a separate tank to heal up for a bit before putting it back in the main tank. I would be inclined to just let it be tho.

On a side note, I have 5 anemones (all clones from 1 bubble I've had for 4 years) that I have never once fed. They are all large, colorful, and healthy. Don't stress too much about not feeding them for a while! ;)

EXACTLY!! Naw, actually so far mine have stuck to their rocks and I've kept them away from the main rockwork. Luck perhaps but they have been "well-behaved" for me! Love my little nems!
