chocolate starfish

I got this starfish and found out it is not reef safe. Does someone with a FOWLR tank want to trade for something?

I could take it but unfortunately don't have much to trade but some small hardware pieces, heaters, HOB filters, surface skimmer.

Great food for Harlequin Shrimps. Hack off a leg and feed to the shrimps, leg regenerates, repeat!

Hi, I'm new here :)

I've been thinking of trying one of these guys in my mantis tank... Don't really have much to trade though, what are you looking for in specific?

Chris

I'm just looking for a frag. I don't have a powerful light so a softie would be preferable.

Is krill ok to feed the starfish?

Bugsy 12-12-2008 12:49 AM

I had one of these guys a few years back. Yes you can feed it krill, place a piece of krill close to is and it should move over ontop of it and start to eat.

If you keep them well fed they should not bother any corals but they might eat some small inverts if they can get them.

I did not fare well with mine for long, had it for a year and then it died. Starfish are not easy to maintain for any length of time in the home aquarium unless you have a big system that can meet their food requirements.

Good luck...
