ReefJunkie's 65Gal build
Well I am finally upgrading from the biocube to a 3' 65 gal. I have decided to go with T5 lighting as it will be a mixed reef with mostly LPS and softies.
Just finished drilling (easier than I expected) http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture073.jpg Stand painted and bulkheads in http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture076.jpg Getting close now...just need to complete my plumbing I decided to go with current usa sundial fixtures, I bought 2 - 4 bulb fixtures. I chose these because they fit perfectly on the 18" and they have their own timers and moonlights http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture033.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture035.jpg My skimmer arrived from Hong Kong yesterday! I am taking my chances with the Bubble Magus BM100. It came very well packed and it seems like a well built product, but only time will tell... http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture083.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture080.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture082.jpg |
The Bubble magus were you able to order a 110V version from Hong Kong. Also if so where did you purchase it from.
Thanks, Chris |
He ordered from Fish Street and it is in 110V. They shipped it last Tuesday (Oct 7) and it got here this Wednesday - seemed like super fast Shipping. Their customer service was very good too.

Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure that they sold the 110V versions there.

Finally have the plumbing done!
Also I wasn't sure if the skimmer was going to fit between the stand, sump and plumbing...whew it just makes it http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture089.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture090.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...cture092-1.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture093.jpg |

so 8 t5's ? if thats what your saying you wont be disapointed haha. i just hooked up my new wave 48 inch 8 bulb today on my 90 gallon 18 inchs deep and trust me there is no lack of light its actualy kinda riduclous

Yep 8 T5's are pretty bright, hard to tell still without anything in the tank but it looks pretty good, just have the stock current-usa bulbs right now(pretty low on the par scale)
Water test completed, a couple plumbing leaks but nothing major. Considering throwing in a SCWD on my returns. Tested the skimmer with water and vinegar, I am surprised at how quiet the bubble magus is...almost silent. Seems like one 3/4 overflow drain is just barely enough, didn't have to close the gate very much to get at a good level. Also tested the emergency overflow and everything seems to be in order. Time to start filling with RO! (I can tell...my fish are getting excited) http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture097.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture094.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture104.jpg |
Update after 2 months LOL, algae is coming on strong but nothing too serious.
Got a couple Bangers a while ago and they have settled in well. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture218.jpg Built my cap for the 2 sets of T5's, with a few problems along the way, mostly heat issues. Made the canopy in two pieces and hinged the middle so I could open either half (front or back) http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture127.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture128.jpg Too much heat from the lights so I opened up the top http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture228.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture229.jpg That pretty much solved it for now... we'll see in the summer. Full tank shot http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture224.jpg Recently added more rock and corals more pics to come... |
