Silicone or rubber screws for fans

The noise that my fans (in the light fixture - Outer Orbit) are making (vibration transferred to the housing) is very annoying and I was reading that silicone or rubber mounts will greatly reduce the noise. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase these to replace the screws in Edmonton.

It's not the screws you need but something to go between the fan and the housing. Go to the craft store or walmart or something and get a sheet of thin foam and cut out a pice large enough to cover the outside of the fan, obviously with a whole in the middle. Or easier to do but a little more messy is to get some silicone and put it on the outside edges of the fan carefull not to get any inside to restrict the spinning. Then remount the fan using eaither method.

The silicone or foam will act like a gasket and dampen any vibration.

Cheers
Todd

computer supply stores sell many devices to silence fans, i have silicone gaskets and o-rings around my fans in my computer to silence the vibration sounds.
