Coralife Light hanger.

Well, my new 6ft Coralife light went swimming in my tank today. one of the hanging parts shattered, well ripped apart along the threads and half the light dropped in the tank. Does anyone know if Coralife warrenties crap like this, or am I S.O.L.

the light works still, now that i dried it out, but smells funny :S

i think id be so mad id smash the light, but since you didnt what where you using to hang it? the actual hanging kit shouldnt give problems if used properly or did you have something riged up?

did the wire slip out of the little clamp? you can replace the wire with a gear cable from a bike for $2.50 if its wrecked but mabey you just didnt have the screw tight enough to hold the wire in place.

ok. the little nipple thing that you would press in to lower the light

Here is a shot of the good side.

Here is the broken side.
The threads on this piece split. i could actually take the light down again and take a picture of whats left.
But im not removing it until new hanging kit arrives.

so was it the cable that frayed or was it a problem with the chrome thing that holds the cable?

cav~firez22 12-10-2007 04:24 AM

Chrome thing that holds the cable. it split in half.
