Crab ID?

This crab showed up when cleaning a rock last night. Good or Bad? Either way I think he is pretty cool looking.

Wow!! Cool crab! He seems to be liking the algee...for now anyways! I've had 2 "bad" crabs since I first set up. I just finally caught one, but the larger one is still in there. Every once in while, he'll roam around the tank at night and level all the new growth tips on several of my SPS! He's also nipped the tails on some of my fish. Me personally, I wouldn't take the chance on any crab. Even if that one isn't reef safe, it would sure be worth keeping in a fowler or something. Pretty fancy clean up crew!

following along.... I've got the exact same crab, came on a zoo colony.... I've also been wondering if I should be worried. I have seen him with zoos in his claws but also algae..... dunno what to make of this because I later see the zoos on the sand bed so I don't know if he's just incidentally chopping them while trying to get the macro (cualerpa that also came on the zoo colony).

Only reason why I haven't just gotten rid of him yet is because his colors are smashing!

Platypodiella spectabilis (Gaudy Clown Crab)....beautiful little bugger, but I think they've been known to eat Zoanthids.

Ya, cool crab, buy him a bus ticket and send him to visit me LOL

Don't you dare kill that one! Even if he is a Zoanthid/SPS destroyer, I want him! Gorgeous!

That is one cool crab... good or bad.

He is in the sump right now, maybe this crab deserves a little 1 gallon so you can see him.
