Anyone try those new Brine Shrimp hatcheries

I was looking at J&L and noticed that they had a air driven brine shrimp hatchery that hangs one the side of the tank. You just put in the eggs and the shrimp hatch and swim into the tank after about 36 hours.

Do these really work. Are they worth the 25.00.

I am thinking of a seahorse application.

I would avoid them, the water brine shrimp hatch out in goes bad really quick and I doubt you want to pollute your tank. I hatch out brine shrimp in inverted 2 litre coke bottles with rigid air line tubing running down into the cap, that with a hole in the bottom large enough for the mouth of a funnel (to add the eggs, salt and water) makes a cheap excellent brine shrimp hatchery. Use two coke bottles and you will have a daily supply of fresh hatched bbs. I use a 60 watt lamp for 24 hour lighting for the bbs.

Using BCorchird guys method you can also refrigerate the newly hatched shrimp and they stay alive for up to about a week or more. It just slows them down so much but they stay alive. I did this when raising my angel fish.

Yes good point, just don't put them in their hatching water, you can add Selcon too and wow what a food source. I was hatching out bbs for feeding 65 grow out tanks so I needed an endless supply of them.
