If their is foam it could take 2 weeks usually a few days with my tank only took 2 House to settle.

3 pounds how big is the tank ?
3 pounds in a 120g will never clear the water in a 2g maybe 1 day. 3 pounds in a 10g well i think you should invest in more LR is you do not have any other filtration. you should never rush things in this hobby, putting in a fish in cloudy water, is a little cruel IMO. Sure maybe he'll live through it but how many years have you knocked off his life. |
What IMO stand for.

in my opinion

unno
-he looks fine and it's a chromis not a wrasse, there tough lil guys, besides
all the water parameters are good-pH 8.4-Specific Gravity=1.022 and no nitrites so he'll be fine plus he'll be the last 1 for a month..ammonia level 0 |
Using fish to cycle is cruel. In a marine tank there is enough die off in live rock (assuming you have enough) to work through your first cycle, or you could put a piece of raw shrimp in your tank to kick start it. If you have not already killed the fish I would hope you take it out and give it a better life.

More Research
I suggest more research is needed
search the internet ie. Reef Tank set up by Marty Ziegler for one You just can't set a tank up overnight, it takes months The tank has to cycle first before adding fish or corals You are getting some bad advice from the fish store |
