Pics from our Pacific Coast waters

The wife and I took up SCUBA a while back and I have really gotten into underwater photography. My rigs not the best but gets some pretty decent shots.

Thought you guys might enjoy.

Heres a few samples of the life we have beneath our BC waters...and people say its only the tropics that have color.

Beautiful Shots!

I cant remember the name of that last critter but I remember seeing one at the Van Aquarium. Anybody who hasnt been there, its worth it to check it out! It sure opened my eyes to the beauty and variety of brightly coloured critters we have right on our doorstep(well, not quite for me, but for those in BC!).

That last fellow is a Wolf Eel. Not really an eel at all, he is a fish. Loves eating Urchins (ouch). They are pretty cool and will often swim around divers if you can coax them out of their dens.

I'm so jealous. What gear are you shooting with. I'm looking and those shots look great

The camera is a Sealife DC500. It's designed to be a beginner U/W camera. It takes pretty good shots and decent video. Theres a cool video I made with it of some sealions in our pics thread on our forum. It has few drawbacks that I am finding as I get better, though I can't complain as the camera, housing and strobe were $699.00. I'll be upgrading to something better a year or so down the road and the wife can have this one.

Here's a pic of it in use.

Looks mighty Familiar.

Wow nice pictures. I've heard there's some great diving out that way. I really need to check it out soon.
