well I got em all
I went to crowfoot petland and cleaned out their coralife bulbs. I have been going in and from time to time if you ask the right clerk you can get thier bulbs at 70% off. All in all I got 3 48" VHO, 3 36" VHO (2 are actinic blue) a 36 inch 50/50 NO, a 48" 50/50 NO, 2 24" 50/50 NO and 2 24" 10K NO...for about 200 bucks. The last bunch I could only get at half off. There are 3 6' VHO 50/50 left there at half off. I also believe the same deal is on at the westhills branch.
I have only used two 48" VHO, 1 50/05 24" and 1 10K 50/50. So if you were thinking of buying some bulbs and one of these would work...and you wanted to trade something...we could make a deal. |
Good job... I found a few things outside the discount shelf with pictures of SW stuff on them and just fired them through the 70% as well....
I should have looked for 48" NO actinics tho.... I'm still smiling about the 10kk 175w Hamilton bulbs for $50...(same as Ushio). 8) |
I saw some of those bulbs but did not have a Mh at the time.
When the girl that rang the most recent bulbs in she could only get one UPC code to ring in...so she charged me for 5-36 inch NO ...at 1/2 price. I had 3 more VHO and a 48" 50/50. You have to like petland! |
Good gravy, are there any more of those Hamiltons or are they cleaned out now? What a score.

I remember that thread, but after having seen the bulbs originally for $250 (at least that's what they were when the Shawnessy Petland opened) I never thought they'd let the halides go for that cheap. Wow, that is a good deal ... actually more of a "steal." Wow, I feel kind of bad for them. But then again maybe if they hadn't tried to sell them at $250 each in the first place, they would have sold one or two. Ok, I know that a business needs to make a profit, but come on, somewhere there's got to be a threshold....

You don't have to feel bad for them, they just ditched a big looser in their business...the SW section. They were lucky to break even in a month. It was more of a novelty...all their money is made from the pet food, etc. One less place to kill fish as well. :D |

It was with a great deal of difficulty I left that racoon butterfly there. It's also been there several weeks and eats like a pig.
Several of my fish were long time eaters/survivors at Pisces. Seriously tho Bob, I'd get that angel on OSI if Wais doesn't list ingredients. |
