i am looking at using a mag 24 in sump for my flow/circulation with a 4-way split at the return. some say this is too much (90 - 100 g) but my feeling is that i can throw in just one powerhead on a multi-timer for 'turmoil or wave' bursts this way. thats about 230$ for the mag @2400 gph + 65$ for pwrhd & timer

or
do you think 260$ for 2 x 1040 + 90$ for wave bar might work better?

i am negotiating for optimum tank size of 48x24wx20h

The quiet one is nice and quiet but I would rather spent the extra 20.00 and get a mag drive 12, the Magdrive has a lot better preformance as the head increases than the quite one from what I have been reading on the boxes. I have also heard Bruce's Mag12 running and it is quite.. I am glad I bought it after hearing that.

One downside about the Mag 24 is it consumes approx 425 watts of power. Although our electricity rates are low this still adds up to a fair bit per year ((425watts x24hrs)*365days))*.06 per kilowatt = approx 220 dollars per year

Hi,

Say...is Rainbow-Lifegard (makers of the Quiet One) still around ? I see that their website isn't working.
