Does aiptasia flouresce?
I just got some new coral today, and on a piece of acan it looks like aiptasia, but it's flourescing green. Here's a picture, but the camera can't seem to capture the flourescing. It's almost like a green zoo kind of flourescing.
I hope it's not aptasia lol... http://www.kwirky88.com/images/aquar...eenanemone.jpg |
No, pretty sure that's not aptasia.

IMO that is aiptasia.
Just not one of the more common species. http://www.habitas.org.uk/marinelife...ria/aipmut.jpg |

I got the colony for a good price because they were damaged in shipment to the LFS. I'm going to give it a bit and watch it, as I don't want to get in there with joe's juice so close to the colony until I feel confident I won't get any on the remaining polyps. Too bad they're aiptasia, as they are quite a nice green. There's two zoos that hitch-hiked in on the colony too, though. Nice green colour, so that's a bonus :) Might be a nice contrast against the red acans if it all grows out properly. |
If you want to get them gone, you can set the frag in my 90 for a day or two and my copperband will remove the little pests and leave the rest alone. I live not far from you in rundle.
Just let me know. :) |
Thanks, but I just finished using joe's juice. I was super careful not to get any on the acan. If any pop up afterwards, I'll take you up on your offer, though.
