I think BTAs must split at around the same time. Both of mine split about 3 weeks ago.

Mine split a couple of days after a big rearange of coralsand rock. So what Im thinking is that it was stress related due to being knocked around. Maybe it felt it was being attacked and it had to multiply to survive. Just a thought

There was no change to my tank when mine split. I think it has to do with the time of the year. I was finally able to video tape one of my anenomes splitting. :)
