what do you feed your clowns?
i cant seem to get mine to eat, i bought a frozen mix of mysis, brine and krill
they swim up to it but dont eat it, one sometimes eats a piece and then spits it out |
Mine likes my fingers
seriously, maybe try making the food a little bit smaller. When my clarkii clowns were little (and still cute) they had trouble eating the larger pieces of food and would just carry it around for a while and then drop it. |
clowns
have you tried live brine yet my clowns love it.
|
no, where do you get live brine?
|
brine
i get my live brine from lfs.but you can hatch them as well just takes a bit of patience.
|
Yes the smaller the fish-the smaller the food
I give my pair a mix of small spirulina flakes as well as enriched brine as mysis is simply too large for the juvinile clowns. I hope they were eating when you purchased them  |
Pellet's
When ours were small they really liked Formula One Pellet's made by Ocean Nutrition. Now they like everything.......
|
The only thing my maroon won't eat now is the green flakes in the 4 flake frenzy my LFS carries. He chows down on brine, mysis, bloodworms and occasionally steals the chunks of shrimp that I have for my anemone.
|
well im going to pick up something else today and i hope they eat
|
one tip i'd recommend for those finicky fish is to soak the food in some freshly crushed garlic....sounds weird, but it does work most of the time...i know a few reefers who swear by this...
just crush up the garlic roughly, throw into a shot glass, then throw in some tank water and the food....stir, and let sit for a short while, then toss the garlic out and feed the fish. Zach |
