Porcelain crab and flame hawk, a no-no?

I'm in the process of a tank tear-down... I was going to move a carpet anemone with 2 percs and a porcelain crab, out of the soon-to-be-decommissioned tank and into another tank. However, the target tank has a resident flame hawk.

Darn it, that's not going to work, is it??

Probably not. A Flame Hawk, or any hawkfish for that matter will eat anything that fits in its mouth. That may not always happen though. I have a Falco Hawkfish, which one day landed right beside my smallest Sexy Shrimp. The shrimp went crazy bobbing the back part of its body madly. The hawk paid no attention to it whatever.

Hey Tony, I'll take the Flame off your hands... I mean, you'd take the crab over the fish any day right? haha.. j/k.

Sorry, I can't help....

I have a couple of cleaner shrimps and a boxer crab in with my Flame hawk and have had no problems yet.

I lost two 2.5" fire shrimp ($30/each) to a flame hawk. Proceed at your own risk.
