Will Build Web Pages for Frags

Hi Everyone -

Seeing as I have some web-related skills, perhaps anyone with a need might barter with me.

I obviously need any bit of reef-life for my empty-looking tank. Worms, snails and crabs are nice, but... Can we help each other?

For example, here's the new "delphinus" page, in its infancy:
http://www.itpro1.com/reef/delphinus.htm

And here's instruction on DIY thumbnails, originally posted for EBeckels:
http://www.itpro1.com/reef.htm

Small examples of some features we could make for you.

Cheers,

That's a pretty keen idea!

Alan, may I pick your brain? After all I gave you some Caulerpa/ :D
I need to make some thumbnails, AND lay them out across the page. Do you make thumbnails by physically containing their size? (as in Height 50, width 100?), and then linking them to the main jpg? or what??
Damn, when I play spelling police I always have to read my posts, and correct spelling before I post them. :(

Bob, what I do is use a graphics program (Photoshop) to make 2 versions of the same pic - a small thumbnail and the full-size linked image.

If you use the IMG tags to constrict image size, they will appear smaller (pixels), but will retain all the original data (kilobytes). Then you end up with 20k thumbnails and horrible download times.

If you have a batch of JPEGs you need sized, send them over by e-mail or disk, and I'll do it for you. It's the least I can do for a reefin' buddy (who might be fragging someday.) ;)

BTW, the halimeda is outcompeting the caulerpa. Must be the light, or lack thereof.

So, what about lining them up across the page? I am not rich enough for Photoshop, do you know of something more free? I am glad the Halimeda is doing better. I would much prefer having that to Caulerpa

Bob, if you want I can make you something like what Dez has now.

Check it out here.
