There really aren't any true freshwater morays. There are many morays that enter feshwater estuaries but for long term care they do best in medium to high brackish conditions. Like 1.012 +

Yes, I do understand that. I was just wondering if anyone out on the board was keeping any of the commonly called "freshwater moray" eels besides myself. It appears that my recent find is a Gymnothorax tile, so I was looking for other keepers to compare notes. The fellow I received mine from had very little in the way of information to give to me, and info on the net is limited.

Thanks,
Dunl :)

About all I can add is that being Gymnothorax ,you may want to becarefull with small fish.

Yeah, that's true with most morays. though - isn't it?

Anyone know (and I mean KNOW from experience, not go do a search that I could do myself) what size tank these guys should have? I believe it is full grown at about 20-24" (ever try to measure a moving eel?), but it doesn't take up a lot of space.

There must be someone else on here who has one of these - they're not rare, are they?

Thanks,
Dunl
