for a 55G - preferably cabinet style - old and ugly is just fine with me as long as it will hold.

How about a 72 bowfront w/ oak stand...30 gal sump included....$300...no scratches and reef ready...all that is needed is a submersible pump, plumping is complete and sump is 30g allglass DIY with refugium area.
