air bleed valve suggestions for DIY Ca reactor?
 

I built a calcium reactor similar to this: http://jjgeisler.com/reeftank/diy_calcium_reactor.htm It works great but I am having trouble with the air bleed valves. I tried a saddle valve but they are made of brass, which contains copper, and it turned green. Then I tried a hot water radiator bleed valve but they leak. Short of ordering from aquatic eco systems, does anyone have any other ideas?

didn't really have a good look at the design but why air bleed when you can recirculate the c02 instead?....... or am I totally way off :redface:

You need to bleed the excess air off when you first start it up and you only recirculate the CO2 in the first chamber. The second chamber, which has little or no CO2 entering it anyways, has no recirculation loop but does need to be bled off when starting up or refilling.

The John Guest fittings might work if there is one with 1/8" mpt.

is that MPT or NPT? there is a JG for anything but you have to find them, I use 1/8 NPT in a couple things with JG so I know there are thoes. you could go to there website and see what there is.
