looking for a couple pieces of magnet(edmonton)

I am looking for a couple pieces of a strong magnet so I can secure a powerhead (the suction cups are not doing it) and the hanging bracket two small to go over tank rim.

or who sells them or are there any idea's out there?

Lee Valley sells rare earth magnets for fairly cheap. You'd probably have to coat them with epoxy or something though... as I would expect with any other kinds of magnets.

Would those rare earth magnets mess with the motor function because of the magnetic field they would create?? I wouold be intereted to see if it worked though because they would be a strong anchor.

2 large earth magnets on opposite sides of thin glass come together with such force that it has the potential to cause a fracture. Make sure you buy the proper size. Yes they are that strong, just try getting one off your fridge with your bare hands.

I purchased mine at Princess Auto. The Brandon, MB store has a good selection of sizes.
Watch the fingers tho' - they're powerful little suckers...
