2 new fishes and friends
The Redsea sailfin Tang and yellow Acanthurus Pyroferus Tang ( mimic tang ) are new.
The sixline wrasse is about 4" long and is the very first sw fish I have owned. Had him for 3+ yrs. for bigger pics pls look in photos under fish. Not sure why these are so small? http://www.canreef.com/photopost/dat...0012-thumb.JPG http://www.canreef.com/photopost/dat...0007-thumb.JPG http://www.canreef.com/photopost/dat...0008-thumb.JPG hope you like the pics |
And they're even cuter in person.

Thanks Steven.
How's my old regal doing? Have a pic of the 72 gal? |

Nice looking fish, I'm pretty sure he thinks he is a Tang. He hangs out with the 2 tangs and eats nori with them. The eating seaweed thing I can't figure out. . I also never paid attention until I read a thread on canreef that they make a web like caccoon before they go to sleep. Until I'll actually saw it I didn't think he did that. It's too bad the picture doesn't do him justice. He has been a great fish and a real joy to have in the tank. Thanks for your comments. Cheers |
Your Tang is a Mimic Surgeonfish/Chocolate TangAcanthurus pyroferus This is a juvenile. They grow to about 8-10 inches. Unfortunately they lose their beautiful yellow coloration. It resembles a Orange Shoulder TangAcanthurus olivaceus as well but seems to lack the blue trim on the anal fins, so I doubt it. Yes a algae/Spirulina rich diet is recommended for both.[/i]
