I'm looking for two fans for my canopy to cool my medal halides, any ideas?

Does any one have any kicking around

Cheers

Computer fans maybe? I'll check in my garage to see if there's some there.

computer fans are the way to go. it all depends on how much air you want to move and how loud of a fan you can withstand. you can also speed ajustable 80mm fans. svc are the fan gods. http://www.svcompucycle.com/fans1.html check them, if you see something good im sure you can find it localy for 3 times the price

go to queal elctronic and get the tube fans, they run off 110 power and put a computer fan to shame while being reasonably quiet.

Princess Auto also has a good selection of fans in their surplus section.

Not sure if there's an island location though.

I bought a bunch of 4" fans off of ebay. I have sold them all except two. They have never been used, PM me if you are interested.

Try this guy out . Look at his other fans as well. The ones I bought are very quiet. He is great to deal with. These fans are his smaller ones but if you look on his store you see 4+ inch ones and some that are variable speed.

HTH

probably the most silent fan in the industry that still moves an acceptable amount of air is the "Panaflo L1A". it is insanly quiet if thats what your looking for.

I bought a 80mm Vantech Stealth Smart Fan for my HTPC. I haven't installed it yet. It is suppose to be variable speed with temp sensor so it speeds up when it is hot. But I'm not sure if this is a function of the computer's motherboard or if the fan has the speed control built-in.

They are suppose to be super quiet and have ball bearings for longer life.

Its $10 at NCIX and $15 at other places I've checked.

Oh, and the 92mm version is suppose to be even quieter but I haven't found a cheap source yet.
