you know a tank that big with that many hiding places i would find the biggest maroon you can and put it in there and get a pair.

i had another one, but it met the powerhead one night fighting over the spot in the anemone :|

That looks like Organpipe to me. Actually the tentacles fluoresce under the proper lighting. Unfortunately it is unsuitable for a nano because it grows large and fast

Thanks Bob,
The tentacles fluoresce too? Do you know what color? It looks like the centers would glow green. I like it.

Looks like it could be Clove or Glove polyps (Clavularia sp.), or perhaps Waving Hand polyps (Anthellia sp.).

Doesn't really look like Tubipora musica ("Pipe Organ" or "Organ Pipe") to me...

Bob I 01-10-2005 01:55 AM

Well Tony I think you are correct. However, nomencature wise, I think since the tubes look like the pipes on a Pipe Organ, the coral should be called Organ Pipe, as there is a lot more to a Pipe Organ than just the pipes (my 2 cents). Upon close inspection, and comparing it with the actual Organ Pipe you so kindly gave me, I think the coral in the picture is not Organ Pipe.
