Shimming a steel stand Q's

Anybody have a 180G on their main floor? If so, did you put a 3/4" plywood underneath the steel stand?

My hardwood floor is quite unlevel, so my stand needs to be shimmed, do I shim over the plywood to get underneath the steel stand? Or do you shim underneath the plywood against the hardwood?

My hard wood floor was really uneven. I didn't want to shim because I felt it would put the pressure in small areas and likely damage the hardwood.

What I did was I put down a layer of sticky shelf paper on top of the hardwood floor, I built a small frame a little bigger then the size of the stand. I poured in a bag of self leveling concrete to a depth of about a .5cm (shallowest) and 1.5cm at the deepest level. I took the frame off once dry, cut away the excess shelf paper and painted the concrete black. I have an absolutely perfectly level tank.

I have heard horror stories of tanks that were not level and seems blowing out.
