HOB Skimmer Thoughts?

Howdy,

I was looking for a (cheap) HOB skimmer and came across this on eBay. Anyone have any thoughts?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=4337767999

It also goes by the name KNOP or Excalibur skimmer, as seen here:

Does anyone have any experience or comments about this thing? Price seems quite reasonable if it's even half-decent.

Thanks!
Rums.

I've seen one of these in action before, not a bad skimmer for a 50g or smaller tank.

Mine worked real well, on a 50gal.

Find out about shipping costs, since it'll have to cross border. When I emailed another eBay retailer in NY about a similar product, he quoted me $40US for shipping. Ouch!!! And its not even a live coral.

Always factor in shipping before bidding.

I asked about that skimmer on RC... I didn't get a lot of responses, but none of them were negative. I ended up with a bakpak 2R though, since it was the same price over at J&L as an Excalibur skimmer.

Have you looked at www.mops.ca ? I know that they sell the same skimmer at around 200 bucks. It might be better to buy it through them after you've factored in shipping (plus its brand new).

Oh, and buy the Excalibur over the knock-off. Oh, and watch out for Ebay shipping costs...
