Canreef Classified Guidelines

Hello everyone,

As promised, the staff here at Canreef have reviewed the classified rules - specifically the buy & sell limits. We ran these new rules for 5 months, and after discussions with Titus (the forum owner) we have decided the limit rules may be popular with some Vendors, but are not in Canreef member's best interests. Effective immediately, there will no longer be buy & sell limits for hobbyists. We have also gone through the rules, pruned them down, and would like to refer to them as guidelines because who likes rules? :D

New guidelines: http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/sho...d.php?t=114843

Please do note that commercial sales are still not allowed, and you may find the definition easy to understand.

Thank you for your continued support, the many great PMs we've all received, and we look forward to improving Canreef everyday.

Really, thanks go to the new staff. Mindy, Warren, Kein and his evil twin Kien. They reminded us of what we're here for. The hobby. And the hobbyists. Without which, we just don't have purpose.

So thanks to them, and the loyal members that trusted us to come to our senses one day :)

Indeed, thanks goes to everyone who provided continued feedback as well. We hope this shows that your comments and concerns are not falling upon deaf ears. So keep them coming ! In an orderly, constructive and polite manner, please and thank you

Good to here. Myself I believe that this make the forum more geared toward a hobbiest community rather than a business opportunity.

Good job mods

This is what we're aiming for. We need hobbyists to make the forums work. Without hobbyists visiting the site, there is nothing here for Vendors to advertise to. There is always a fine line between pleasing the members and pleasing the Vendors, and it isn't always easy. We want to avoid knee jerk reactions in the future, and work towards making a better Canreef.

Please send us PMs! We get lots of PMs, so don't be shy! Whether it's something you like or something you dislike, whether you're a regular poster or a lurker, your ideas and views are important to us.

Could the Buy / sell be put back into the "Active posts" section on the homepage too then?

As the forum is powered by hobbyists, the buy/sell populating the front page drives visitors to that section, as well as those who are just looking to buy / sell to other posts.

This is something the staff will discuss, but it was removed from the Active Posts section a couple of years ago for reasons I can't remember. For now, you can just use the New Posts tab at the top of the page. All posts show up there and it's the one I use for refreshing.

Thank you for constructive input!
