Lower Mainland Tank Repair

Hi all, I'm new here and look forward to some good discussion. My tank is in need of repair and I don't know who to go to for help. It has a crack in the top corner and the reason I haven't just chucked it out and got a new one is that I have a built in w/d trickle box built in. I'm wondering if anyone out there does tank repairs at a reasonable price or recommends someone who does.

Its an older glass tank but the internal w/d tf box works like a charm. I'd love to get it fixed up, if at all possible.

Suggestions anyone?

Welcome to the board! How big is the tank? I've found that most smaller tanks can easily be fixed by buying the glass yourself and replacing it. Not too tough at all. Use a piece of piano wire or similar material to cut the pane off, clean the old silicone off really well, and stick on a new piece.

I can't tell you the axbxc dimensions off the top of my head but its your typical rectangular 55 gal tank. The piano wire suggestion has potential.

Wouldn't be too difficult at all to do yourself...

You can give Glass Station a call with the dimensions. They're on the corner of Lougheed Hwy and Mary Hill Bypass:

Glass Station

That's where I get most of my glass for broken aquariums. Also, you can use a razor to cut through the silicone and scrape it off, (that's what I use... never thought about using a piano wire). Hope this helps.

Thanks Brad and Rob for the suggestions. Maybe the tank will be back in buisness soon afterall.
