I'm PO'd right off

I saw something that absolutely made my blood boil and severely ****ed me off this afternoon

I dropped some garbage off at one of the local transfer stations and as I was finishing off this car pulled up and a woman got out and had a full bag of fresh water aquarium fish and before I could stop her she threw them all into the bin and asked her why she did that and she told me to mind my own F'ing business. To make matters worse the fish were still all alive and I called over one of the attendants to see if he could retrieve the bag when he went in it was still surprisingly intact but as he lifted it up it broke spilling all the contents dooming all the fish to a slow death.

I was some ****ed unfortunately I did not get a license number but I reported the vehicle and the woman to authorities and the BCSPCA not sure much will happen but I despise people who do crap like that

Wow, this would have bothered me huge as well. It's so disappointing that there are people out there that can do things like this.

SPCA does not consider fish "animals" and won't do anything. It's a sad fact, some people see fish as little more than decorations.
I know a guy that fills his 33g salt tank with fish for cocktail parties and other events in his house, which all proceed to die within days

I just found that out the SPCA called me back and said that there was not much they could do nor will the police as they referred me to the BCSPCA so unfortunately no justice for the fish but still no excuse in my books

Back in university at SFU in the 90's, there were a couple of people with Siamese fighting fish in their dorm and there was a rumour that they were going to put them into the same bowl to watch them fight. This was reported to the SPCA by a concerned student and someone from the SPCA came and confiscated the fish from one of the fish owners. The other person wasn't home at the time and was able to keep the fish.

That is maddening.

Years ago I worked a (very) short stint at PetSmart in Calgary by the Chinook Mall. At that time there was a 24 or 48 hours guarantee on saltwater fish. A lady came in and picked out a Clownfish - she was fairly evasive with my gentle prodding questions. Then she proceeded to buy a goldfish bowl and NO salt. My questions becames more concerned. She said it was none of my business what she did with the fish and the fish would be fine in freshwater because it's a fish. I refused to sell the fish. The manager told me I had to. The lady came back the next day with the dead Clownfish. SHE GOT A REPLACEMENT FOR FREE! I quit shortly after that.
