Fishy infections

During 40 years of FW and close to 3 of SW I've never seen this one ...

Sorry, no pics

I have some Lyretail Anthias in QT

2 of the 5 had little white 'horns' on their heads. They protruded much more than any cyst. More like a tube, and literally looked like horns

At about 8 days the little horns disappeared
One of the infected now has an indentation on top of her head, behind her eyes, so obviously there was some tissue degradation there

I haven't started Prazi yet as I'm still ensuring they are fat, and before I do I thought I'd check with the collective

I don't want to start throwing meds at the tank as the last time I did that I lost some thought-to-be healthy fish

Any thoughts ?

These little white "horns", what size would they be?
Diameter and length?

They looked to be about 1mm thick and maybe as much as 2mm long
