light in sump to grow cheato
 

ok so i wanna grow some cheato, i put a 65ook cfl light in my sump i have some small pebble size LR, its been on for 3 weeks, off 4 hours a day, and all iam growing is this brown looking algae, over everything, all my pari are in check its a 90g reef ready

Could you post a picture, that would be a big help. Sounds like diatoms. Do you have a ball of cheato in there?

No point in having the light on if you don't have chaeto in there yet because all you're doing is growing problem algae.
