2 part dosing question ( new to automated dosing)

Should the tubes from the dosing pump to the sump drip into the water or should they go into the sump water:question:

Keep them above the water

Dripped above like Jesse said in an area with moving water. Drip calcium and alkalinity seperately with some time in between doses.

I dose my alkalinity solution at 1am as pH typically drops during lights out and then the calcium at 11am. At the moment I dose about 25ml per day into the return section of my sump. The return pump sucks it up pretty quick and disperses it into the display tank.

Thanks for the input guys, just going to start it all up today and I planned on 30ml a day of both ca & alk to start and adjust accordingly every few days to get levels ca of 450 and alk of around 8. I plan on tweeking my mg level when I do my water changes to try and keep it about 1350ish. Am I on the right track guys, comments welcomed:question:

I dose both at the same time, every ½ hour. They drip about 2 ft apart. The alkalinity nozzle gets rinsed every time the ATO comes on and it drips above one of the power heads that I have in the sump.

Whoops, misread your question!

Keep doser hoses above water line.

I'd go sump, its tidy and if you dose into return area it will be well mixed for display.

Just don't let in drip by skimmer intake, as it may be skimmed out...

I'm dripping into the narrow bubble seperating chamber just before it goes into the return pump section, it seems to be a fast flow through that chamber to the return pump.

That's a good spot Laurie - lots of mixing going on there
Anywhere away from direct contact with equipment is good to help stop 'buildup' on stuff
