Anyone sold their home with a large tank?

My wife and I ( well, my wife really ) are considering selling our house within the next year or so.

The tank is semi built into a wall unit and could be removed, metal stand would not come out of the basement without some demolition of the house or stand. Overall, taking it out of the house could be a major undertaking.

Just wondering how it went for anyone else that sold with a large tank?

I seem to recall there was someone last year who sold their house that came with a tank but they wrote it into the contract that the tank was to be sold with the house.

Previous related thread, not sure what the outcome was but you could ask asylumdown how things worked out for him.

I put my house for sale about 5 years ago. My real estate agent advised me to take it out of the house, as a large majority of people are not equipt to handle a fish tank setup. And he thought they would ask to have it removed or offer a lower price, for the hassle of dealing with its removal. I had a 300 built into the wall. Ended up having to remove the windows downstairs to get it out. Although the next problem I faced was then once it was removed, and with all the electrical remaining, people were worried that the house was used as a grow opp! My agent had to have pictures of the tank and build on hand to show.

Well, he is still having problems with the tank so I am assuming the house didn't sell.

If it's a seller's market, you may get away with it still being in there. If it's a buyer's market, you better remove it.
