ID on a worm?
 

New to the form so I hope I am posting this in the right place. A strange red worm showed up in the substrate. Tried to pull it out but it disappears as soon as I move the substrate. bristle worm good part of cuc

I am by no means an expert, and the picture is blurry, but it looks as if it may be a spaghetti worm. It looks as if there are more than one smaller bits at the top. If it is, it is also harmless and can be a valuable part of your cuc.

I have bristle worms, they look more like a centipedes correct?

I googled spaghetti worms and would say the worm I found looks more like these. But they are a good thing to have? I have a tendency to pluck anything unknown from my tank and throw it out for fear of it being harmful lol.

If it is a spaghetti worm it won't harm anything in your tank directly but they do have a tendency to irritate polyp'd corals to the point where they won't open. I've read that sand-sifting stars will make a lunch of them.

Am I best to remove it then?

i have never seen or hear of a spaghetti worm being harmful - they are a useful part of your cuc. Keep him you probably have many of them in your rocks.
